SpaceX launched into orbit a Falcon 9 rocket with a GPS satellite for the US Air Force

The Falcon 9 heavy launch vehicle was successfully launched into near-Earth orbit with the third satellite of the global positioning system of the new generation GPS III, which will work in the interests of the US Air Force, the company SpaceX the developer of the launch vehicle, reports June 30. The launch was carried out at 23:10 Moscow time in the US state of Florida from the 40th launch complex at the Cape Canaveral Cosmodrome. It is planned to launch a 3.8-ton GPS III device into Earth orbit. Satellites of this type should replace all aging GPS navigation system devices in orbit by 2034. New devices manufactured by Lockheed Martin Corporation are able to determine the coordinates of objects three times more accurately, and also claim their high protection from the electronic impact of a potential enemy.
