In Egypt, sentenced to life imprisonment 13 militants
In Egypt, a criminal court sentenced 13 members of the terrorist group Jebhat al-Nusra (an organization whose activities are banned in the Russian Federation) to life imprisonment. This was announced on June 21 by the Masrawy portal. The Cairo Criminal Court sentenced 13 accused in this case to life imprisonment, three more were sentenced to 15 years in a maximum security prison, the portal said. It is noted that the convicts were fined a total of 3 million Egyptian pounds (almost $185 thousand), and after the end of the prison term for five years they will be carried out police control. According to journalists of the portal, investigators found that the convicts in 2011 organized a terrorist cell and were in its ranks until 2014. Gang members called for destabilizing the functioning of state institutions and attacks on citizens, Masrawy said. According to the news agency, earlier the head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Parties in Syria, Rear Admiral Alexander Shcherbitsky said that militants of the terrorist group Jebhat al-Nusra (an organization whose activities are banned in the Russian Federation) fired at two settlements in the Syrian province of Idlib.
