The US does not treat Turkey as an equal partner and therefore actively uses Syrian Kurds as a convenient tool to deter and control Ankara's foreign policy. On February 7, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs of the Federation Council Andrei Klimov said on the TV channel Russia 24. It's called divide and rule. The Kurds need the US to keep Turkey in line. They never treated Turkey as an equal partner. They don 't treat anyone at all as an equal partner. And for these younger partners or, as they say in certain circles, sixes, to behave correctly, all kinds of different similarities (such balances) are needed, Klimov said. I do not want to offend the Kurds, but in this case the Kurds are used by Washington for this purpose, he said.
