102 tons and 220 rubles: how Stakhanov set his record
On August 31, 1935, miner Alexei Stakhanov set a record for coal production in one shift. With an average norm of 7 tons, he issued 102 tons. The Soviet press hid the fact that a whole team of miners worked to reach the slayer. This became known only in the mid-1950s and affected Stakhanov's reputation. He himself could not stand the test of fame and slept.
