Health workers in the Netherlands will receive a prize

On June 25, Minister of Health Hugo de Jonge announced the payment of a premium of 1,000 euros to medical workers. The award is a sign of appreciation to healthcare professionals for their efforts during the coronacrisis. Even at the beginning of the crisis, parliament unanimously asked the government for remuneration for medical workers. The award is intended for junior and secondary medical personnel, as well as for auxiliary workers, such as cleaners. Premiums will be paid in the fall. Medical institutions themselves must apply to the Ministry of Health for bonuses. It is assumed that the premiums will cost the treasury 800 million euros. Earlier, factions of parties in the ruling coalition rejected three times the proposal of the parliamentary opposition to increase salaries for medical workers.

WHO: hand washing is more useful than using rubber gloves

Wearing rubber gloves in public places is not an effective measure to prevent coronavirus infection, according to the recommendation of the World Health Organization.
