One in six Stockholm residents who passed the analysis last week have antibodies to COVID-19. The laboratory of Karolinsky University confirmed that antibodies were found in 17.2% of residents of the capital of Sweden. This was reported on June 25 by the Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter. This result is the result of the first mass collection of antibody detection samples initiated in the Stockholm region. Testing was free, and all wishing residents of Stockholm could pass it. Last week, nearly 24,000 antibody tests were performed. 17.2% of them were positive, said Klas Ruth, head of the laboratory at Karolinska University, adding that such a large percentage of antibodies was expected, since Stockholm was the main center of the coronavirus pandemic in Sweden.
