Moldova did not exclude the postponement of Victory Day celebration to August
The possibility of moving the events dedicated to the celebration of the 75th anniversary of Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War to August was not excluded by the President of Moldova Igor Dodon. This was announced by the Head of State on April 14 on the TV channel N4. As Dodon explained, it is likely that due to the threat of coronavirus epidemic, all mass events related to the Victory Day celebration will be postponed to August 24. On this day, Moldova's liberation from fascist-German invaders is celebrated in the country. The President of Moldova specified that this proposal will still be discussed, and veterans, regardless of the postponement of festive events, will receive all necessary support. Earlier, the news agency reported that in Moldova the number of confirmed cases of SARS-CoV -2 infection reached 1847, in the last 24 hours the number of detected cases increased by 135. The number of deaths is 36. A state of emergency has been introduced in the country, and non-working days have been declared until April 24.
