In Afghanistan, two U.S. soldiers were killed in a shooting
Two US soldiers were killed and six others were injured in an exchange of fire in the Afghan province of Nangarhar. On February 9, U.S. Forces in Afghanistan (USFOR-A) spokesman Colonel Sonny Leggett told reporters. As Leggett explained, a man in Afghan army uniforms opened fire with a machine gun on the United States and Afghanistan forces. The motive and reasons for the attack are currently unknown, information is being collected, and an investigation is under way. The February 8 exchange of fire in Sherzad County, Nangarhar Province, killed two US soldiers and injured six others. All victims received first aid at the American military base. It is specified that the province of Sherzad is the area where ISIL groups (an organization whose activities are prohibited in the Russian Federation) operate.
